RUB is part of the international university alliance UNIC – European University of Post-Industrial Cities. It is an association of ten universities dedicated to promoting student mobility and social integration.

RUB is part of the international university alliance UNIC – European University of Post-Industrial Cities. UNIC, pronounced „unique“, is an alliance of ten universities rooted in ten specific post-industrial urban environments, dedicated to unlocking new models of European learning, working and researching that will shape the university of the future. Our mission is to boost the development of knowledge and co-creation through collaboration, innovation and inclusion, for societal impact and improvement. Next to the RUB, UNIC includes the universities of Bilbao, Cork, Istanbul, Liège, Łódź, Malmö, Oulu, Rotterdam and Zagreb.

UNIC is dedicated to promoting student mobility and social integration. The KGI encourages student exchanges and joint seminars within this international university network. Please contact Annette Urban and the RUB International Office if you are interested in an Erasmus semester at one of our partner institutions.

The KGI, together with the RUB university collections, is also involved in building up a network of university collections in post-industrial cities. „21 Plateaus“ is a network in progress.
