The University of Łódź has been founded in 1945 and since then, it has developed a network of academic collections and exhibition spaces. The main collection referring to the history of the institution is exhibited at the Museum of the University of Łódź in former palace of Alfred Biedermann. UniLodz has also set up a network of few galleries, which house temporary exhibitions of modern art by both local and European artists. The university’s scientific collections are presented at the separate Natural History Museum.
